My Morning Commute Through Tokyo Narita with the Airwheel SE3

2026-04-24

The alarm sounds at 4:30 AM. I drag myself out of bed knowing that in three hours, I need to be at a client meeting across town. The last thing I need is another exhausting airport shuffle.

Airwheel SE3 Series

But today is different. Today, my Airwheel SE3SX smart riding suitcase sits by the door, fully charged and ready. I slide into my jacket, grab my laptop bag, and wheel my SE3SX to the taxi stand.

The Airport Glide

Security lines at Narita move faster than expected. I tuck my boarding pass away and head straight for the gate area. The terminal is massive – Gate 127 sits a solid 15-minute walk from security. In the past, that meant a brisk power-walk with growing fatigue in my shoulders.

Not today. I find an empty corner near the moving walkway entrance, unfold the handlebar, and press the power button. The motor hums to life. I step on, lean slightly forward, and glide along the moving walkway at a comfortable pace.

Controlling the Ride

The electric suitcase responds to my phone app instantly. A tap forward sends me cruising; a tap backward eases me to a stop. My right hand rests on the steering handle, nudging left or right to weave around slower pedestrians.

I do not need to pair the app before riding. The rideable luggage works independently – no activation sequence, no Bluetooth handshake. Just step on and go.

Arriving in Style

Gate 127 arrives. I step off, fold the handlebar, and walk normally to my seat. My seatmate notices the luggage tag and asks about the brand.

“Is that the riding suitcase?” she asks. “I have seen videos online.”

I nod and smile. “It works great. Want to try it at the baggage carousel?”

The Return Journey

The client meeting ends early. I race to Haneda for my return flight. The electric travel suitcase gets me through the terminal swiftly. The 10km/h top speed feels luxurious compared to my normal walking pace.

Verdict

Two flights, one taxi ride, and zero shoulder pain. The SE3SX has permanently changed how I approach business travel. Next month, I am bringing it to Singapore for a conference. At 6.6kg, the weight barely registers whether I am carrying it up stairs or rolling it through parking structures.
